In 2021, an estimated 31.1 million Americans were uninsured. This is greater than the combined populations of Texas and Washington, D.C.
There were over 40 million underinsured Americans. This is greater than the combined populations of Texas, Washington D.C., and Michigan.
58 million Americans postponed medical treatment due to high cost. This is the combined populations of Texas, Washington, D.C., Michigan, and New York.
The healthcare industry is one of the largest employers in the U.S. labor force, and we all depend on its medical delivery and care. In 2020, hospitals lost $323 billion USD and many filed for bankruptcy.
Hospitals have spent $702 billion USD in uncompensated care costs for their patients between 2000 – 2019.
The cost of U.S. healthcare in 2020 was $4.1 trillion USD (or $12,530 per person). This is among the highest of the developed countries.

Exurgo is a mission-driven patented SaaS digital healthcare company that offers a new model of care as a unique solution to address a long-term systemic concern. We use technology as a catalyst to help patients and their providers work in unison for equitable and better healthcare accessibility and delivery.
Exurgo was started by a team of passionate entrepreneurs long before the global COVID-19 pandemic crisis. Our educational backgrounds include the University of California, Berkeley, Stanford University, Georgetown University, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, and the University of Cambridge. We have over thirty years combined diverse and extensive professional experiences in financial and health economics, business, international development, law, data privacy and cybersecurity.
